Cinnamon Clove Tincture and Tea Recipe

Cinnamon is loved for its comforting aroma and sweet flavor. It's actually a very health spice. Its widely known for ability to lower blood sugar.

Some say Clove comes from the French word nail. Its best known for its pain killing ingredient eugenol.

Two of the most familiar properties of C and C are Coves help prevent and reduce a fatty liver and liver cirrhosis. While Cinnamon helps remove arthritis.

Cinnamon and cloves together produce a lot of antioxidants, lowers stress levels, strengthens the immune system, cinnamon increases blood flow and reduces inflammation. 

Cinnamon is an excellent source of manganese, copper, iron, calcium, zinc, magnesium, and Vitamin C. It's also various phytonutrients such as flavonoids, Pro anthocyanidins, quercetin, cinnamic acid and eugenol. How is this? It also lowers the body's LDL bad cholesterol.

Cloves on the other hand is packed with Omega-3 fatty acids, fiber and minerals such as magnesium, iron, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, zinc and calcium. Cloves are also loaded with vitamins such as thiamin, riboflavin, Vitamin C, niacin, folate, vitamin B6, B12, A,E,K and D3. Cloves possess various biochemicals such as eugenol, ethanol, thymol, benzene, flavonoids, hexane, and methylene chloride. This combination of ingredients makes cloves rich in antioxidants, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and hepatoprotective properties.

Here is my recipe:

These are highly concentrated.

20 large organic Ceylon Cinnamon Sticks. (Ceylon is a true cinnamon.

12 oz of organic whole cloves coarsely smashed.

32 oz of pure unflavored vodka.

2 quarts of spring water.

1 quart jar and 1 2-quart jar. with lids and rings.

Tincture: in a clean quart jar add 14 cinnamon sticks and 8 oz of the smashed cloves pour the vodka over the spices. Fill one inch from the top of jar. Cover with lid and ring. Shake well and place in a sunny window for two weeks. Shake daily. After two weeks strain through a very fine organic muslin cloth or bag squeezing out all the tincture. Pour into small dark bottles with droppers. Store in a dark cool place. Take one small scant teaspoon twice weekly. Any more than that could damage your liver and or kidneys.

Tea: 

6 organic Ceylon Cinnamon sticks

4 oz of smashed cloves.

Add the Cinnamon sticks and cloves to a two-quart jar cover with boiling water leaving an inch head space. Cover with lid and ring. Let cool. Strain. Tea is concentrated and bitter. To drink, use 1 oz of tea into 8 oz of water. Add some honey or agave to taste. Drink two or three times a week.
